Sales Opportunity: Industrial Laser Industry

  • May 7, 2014

Industrial Laser Industry

Many scientific, military, medical and commercial laser applications have been developed since the invention of the laser in 1958. The coherency, high monochromaticity and the ability to reach extremely high powers are all properties which allow for these specialized applications. Laser applications include, but are not limited to:

  • Scientific ( Heat Treatment, Laser Cooling, Nuclear Fusion)
  • Military (Targeting, Firearms)
  • Medical (Cosmetic Surgery, Laser Scalpel)
  • Industrial & Commercial (Entertainment, Surveying)

Sales Opportunity: Food & Beverage Industry

Food & Beverage Industry

ChipsWith our fast paced society, consumer packaging is a vital component of contemporary living. Analysts forecast the Global Flexible Packaging market to grow at a CAGR of 4.95% from now until 2018. A key factor for this industry growth is the increase in the demand for convenience packaging.

Ultrasonic Sealing for Snack Bags Saves Material

Ultrasonic seals of metallic foils are peelable starting at widths of 7mm. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the overall amount of the packaging material.  Heat seals typically have a seal width of 15 to 24mm. The percentage of the area of a typical heat seal is approximately 8% to 12% of the package. This can be reduced by 50% when sealing with ultrasonics.

Sales Opportunity: Chemical Injection Skids

  • March 6, 2014

A Chemical Injection System is a piece of equipment that is designed to inject various chemicals into a system, usually to dilute solutions facilitate process flows. They can function continuously or intermittently and are used in a wide range of applications such as Well Cleaning, Oil Recovery, Corrosion Prevention, Pipeline Flow and much more.

There are many advantages to Chemical Injection Systems; they reduce downtime, they are safer and more effective and efficient compared to non-skid mounted units.

Natural Gas Vehicles

  • January 7, 2014

Developing and marketing “green” cars has not been an easy task, which is why gasoline powered vehicles still rule the road. However, as gasoline prices soar and concern over harmful emissions rise; cars that run on alternative fuel are becoming increasingly important. A perfect example is the Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV), – it’s fuel efficient, environmentally friendly and offers a relatively low cost of ownership.

  • NGV is an alternative fuel vehicle that uses CNG or LNG as a cleaner alternative to other fossil fuels
  • NGV filling stations can be located anywhere that natural gas lines exist
  • CNG may be mixed with biogas, produced from landfills or wastewater, which doesn’t increase the concentration of carbon in the atmosphere
  • CNG powered vehicles are considered to be safer than gasoline powered vehicles

Freezing Technology: Cryogenics

  • December 3, 2013

Cryogenic freezing is still a relatively new method to food preservation that is gaining popularity due to its low set up costs and improved food quality when compared to other freezing technologies. Cryogenics freezing is not connected to a refrigeration plant; instead the refrigerants used are liquefied in large industrial installations and shipped to factories in large vessels – this allows for flexibility in design and efficiency!

UPS Adding New LNG Fueling Stations

  • October 10, 2013

UPS, a global leader in logistics, is planning to invest approximately $50 million to build an additional nine liquefied natural gas (LNG) fueling stations, bringing the total number of stations to 13. All stations should be operational by the end of 2014.

This enhanced LNG fueling infrastructure will support the operation of approximately 1,000 UPS LNG tractors — displacing more than 24 million gallons of diesel fuel annually. UPS has used LNG vehicles for more than a decade and has benefited from lower fuel prices compared to imported petroleum.

ChemTec’s Excess Flow Valves are used in CNG and LNG filling stations like these, and housed within natural gas vehicles (NGVs) and hydrogen generators. The EFV monitors the flow of gas and shuts off the line if there is an excess flow and tracks and regulates the flow of natural gas through pipes. Sales Opportunity: Reverse Osmosis Desalination

  • October 1, 2013

I’m sure you have all seen the recent articles about the popularity increase for reverse osmosis systems. The demand for these systems has opened new sales avenues in multiple industries. From home appliance manufacturers to cruise ships and even luxury yacht builders.

ChemTec’s flow monitors, flow meters and excess flow valves are a great addition to reverse osmosis desalination systems. Installed to protect pumps, monitor flow, signal flow/no-flow conditions for quality, monitor operating pressures and fresh water flush upon shutdown. Some higher quality RO systems include digital output flow monitoring to signal maintenance scheduling, a great application for our all wetted parts MAO Series flow meter.

All systems operate with pumps. Similarly, ChemTec’s flow meter offers digital and analog outputs capable of sending a signal to a main control to monitor the efficiency of the R/O system.

Halliburton, Frito-Lay Committed to Future of Compressed Natural Gas

  • August 8, 2013

Halliburton announced the deployment of nearly 100 light-duty compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks across several field locations in the United States. The Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) bi-fuel trucks were recently purchased as part of a pilot program to be rolled out throughout the Company’s U.S. operations. Read the announcement here.

Frito-Lay representatives and he Department of Energy and the State of Wisconsin unveiled the Frito-Lay’s inaugural Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueling station in Beloit, Wisconsin. The station opening is part of Frito-Lay’s large-scale commitment to alternative fuel. In 2013, the company will break ground on seven public CNG fueling stations across the U.S. and continue to grow its CNG fleet, bringing the total number of its CNG tractors to 208. Read the announcement here.
